Award winning underwater photographer, cameraman, filmmaker and Freediving Instructor Trainer.
Jacques has extensive experience diving with large marine life (especially orcas!) and holds numerous underwater qualifications ranging from Commercial Diver and SCUBA Instructor to Freediving Instructor Trainer. For many he is better known as an award winning underwater photographer and cameraman whose work has won numerous prestigious international UW photography and film awards. His photography has been published worldwide in several books and hundreds of publications and as a camera operator he has worked on projects for companies like the BBC, Epic TV and Red Bull. Throughout the year, Jacques is also actively involved in cetacean and various other ocean related research and conservation projects.

Ivar is not only the founder and part owner of Boreal Yachting, but also actively takes part in our expeditions. As one of the most experienced Boreal Yahcting skippers and a true ‘local’, he knows the fjords like no one else and loves being at sea.
Pavel Tomm
In-water Guide / Crew
Pavel is one of our experienced arctic in-water guides and is qualified as a Freediving Instructor with hundreds of certifications to his name.
Having worked and trained with Jacques for more than 6 years, he is also perfectly suited for his role as senior guide on our second yacht.
Børre Hansen
Skipper
Børre is a professional full-time fishing skipper with more than 30 years of experience and co-owner of larger coastal fishing vessels such as the MS Skulbaren
from Sommarøy. One of the skipper since the beginning of Arctic Freediving, when Børre is not out at sea fishing he enjoys being skipper for expeditions as well as being our technical advisor and liaison with the fishing industry.
Knut Charles Olsen
Skipper
Knut Charles has a wealth of experience ranging from Commercial Diver to having spent years with the coast guard as well as being a highly skilled skipper / rescuer with Sea Rescue (where he still works). He is also a STCW safety instructor in Tromsø and on Svalbard (Arcos, Tromsø
Maritime). In terms of whale watching expeditions – Knut Charles was one of the first skippers to start with sperm whale tours around Andøya.
Linas Pocius
Crew
Linas is not only one of the best crew members you can have on a boat, he is also the glue that keeps it together! As an accomplished professional chef, Linas is also a very experienced technician and can fix just about anything.

Jana is the core of whichever boat she helps crew and when she is not raising sails, driving fast boats or supervising dives, she is below decks making sure everyone is happy.

August Botne Sandberg

With several Atlantic ocean crossings under his belt and years of sailing experience, August is one of our seasoned skippers.
In addition to sailing he is also a very accomplished film maker and photographer and has also documented the Volvo Ocean Race!
