Booking

How To Book / Find Out More:

Arctic Freediving receives a huge number of requests each season and to ensure clients have as much information as possible before placing a booking, we have compiled this guide to help you through the process:

Step 1 – Information

Prior to contacting us or before inquiring about a possible booking, we require guests to consult our website and read the Requirements (compulsory) as well as FAQ section to answer any initial questions they might have.

Step 2 – Requirements

Please refer to the Requirements page for a detailed explanation. In order to take part in any in-water activities, guests must meet mandatory requirements. Clients who wish to do so:

  1. will be currently certified as an open-water freediver (AIDA, SSI, FII etc), or alternatively have suitable experience at an advanced level as a snorkeler or scuba diver for these conditions. This means being able to operate in-water without any form of direct assistance while also being able to assist a ‘buddy’ if needed.
  2. will be physically fit to take part in moderate to intense in-water activities.
  3. will have full working knowledge and experience with the equipment being used including (but not limited to) getting into and out of the wetsuit to be used.
  4. will be able to snorkel 100 meters / 328 feet at the surface in full winter freediving equipment (with weights) in under 2 minutes and 20 seconds while maintaining an efficient and streamlined finning technique, without the use of their arms to swim.
  5. will able to enter and exit the water from and onto a Rigid-hulled inflatable boat or supporting vessel without assistance in under 8 seconds in variable sea states and weather conditions. This will be at a height of no less than 50cm above water level while wearing full diving equipment, including weights.

Should it be discovered that a client does not meet these requirements after they arrived to start an Arctic Freediving expedition, they will not be allowed to take part in any in-water activities.

Step 3 – Weeks, Availability & Number Of Bookings

The scheduled weeks (as seen under the ‘Orca And Humpback Whales’ section) are fixed.

  • Are you booking for yourself or a whole group?
  • Is it your first time with us or have you joined us before?
  • Would you like to join others or prefer having a whole yacht to yourself (less than 2 people)?

The answers to these questions will affect the type of booking and even the layout of each week.

The current 2024 schedule is as follows:

  • 28 Oct – 04 Nov 2024
  • 05 Nov – 12 Nov 2024
  • 13 Nov – 20 Nov 2024
  • 21 Nov – 28 Nov 2024
  • 29 Nov – 06 Dec 2024
  • 07 Dec – 14 Dec 2024
  • 15 Dec – 22 Dec 2024

The cabin and space availability works as follows for each of the weeks:

Please note – ‘shared cabins’ will have two guests sharing a single cabin on a same sex / couples basis.

Guests are welcome to choose any of these options along with a week in order for us to see if the group size / day structure is possible.
For example:

Jimmy Steve is joining us for the first time and wants a more affordable option. Therefore he opts for a 1+5+1 and 4 person week. He also sees that week x Nov until x Nov is still available, so he sends us a message asking if a 4 person week for week x Nov – x Nov is available and what the price would be.

OR

Joey and his fiancée wants a private week and they see that x Jan – x Jan is still empty. He sends us a message asking if a 0+6+1 option is available for 2 persons for x Jan – x Jan.

Step 4 – Contact Us / Pricing

Should you now be ready to make a booking or would like to inquire about pricing, please send us a message with the preferred date, amount of people and the type of booking based on the table above. From here we will assist you with all information regarding the booking, including payment instructions, paperwork and requirements.

Please note that we do not advertise our prices online and this can only be obtained by contacting us.

Step 5 – Preparation

After the booking process we will be happy to assist clients with all the relevant information they need in order to prepare for their time with us. This includes helping clients with everything from wetsuit orders if needed to providing all the details related to what to wear, how to pack and what other activities there are to discover in Northern Norway.
